“TUBE-ROSE-BALL” (2003)
In the video a rubber ball containing liquid is shown rolling about. The images are slowed down and made negative, simulating a neon ball, in a dark place. The background sound is almost obsessive. A ball, here seen as a game and metaphor for everyday life, is crossed by the light that envelops and flows in its threadlike meanders, just like the often difficult lines and pathways of life.
The liquid seems to flow according to a disenchanted prophecy where the present streams with the anxieties of everyday life. It swirls with all its (often latent) joys and sorrows.
The video images were taken from the installation “GoMINToli” presented at IN SITU 2003, En Plein Air Gallery Pinerolo (Torino).
